ATLANTA – Elizabeth Stowe, a member of the Georgia Tech women’s swim team, will compete Saturday at the USA Swimming 10K Open Water World Championship Trials in Fort Myers, Fla.

Stowe, a senior from Lawrenceville, Ga., is one of 26 women competing for four roster spots on the USA swim team. The 2008 World Championships are April 29-May 4 in Seville, Spain. The Tech captain qualified for the world championship trials this past summer, finishing 10th at the 10K Open Water Grand Prix in Indianapolis, Ind.

“This will be a great experience for Elizabeth (Stowe),” head coach Stuart Wilson said. “She will be competing against some world class swimmers. Elizabeth is coming off a great summer and has continued it this fall. We are very proud of here.”
