Stanford’s Walk Off Home Run Powers Tech Past WCU

 THE FLATS – Sophomore Cameron Stanford’s three-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh pushed Georgia Tech softball (14-6) past Western Carolina (6-6) with a 9-6 comeback victory.

 

Senior Katie Krzus singles through the left side in the bottom of the fifth to plate freshman Ariella Jackson and bring the score to 6-2.

In the next at bat, sophomore Tricia Awald singles through the left side to score Roper from second and move the tally to 6-3.

Huckabay knocks a three-run homer over center field, plating Krzus and Awald and knotting the game at 6-6.

The Yellow Jackets host Jacksonville State on Tuesday, March 5 at 5 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
