Virginia Mulkey joined Georgia Tech Athletics in July 2025 as a graduate assistant. In this role, Mulkey oversees the softball program while also serving as the secondary sport contact for men’s basketball.
Prior to arriving on The Flats, Mulkey gained extensive experience in collegiate athletics while at Penn State, serving as a lead intern in the Athletic Marketing Department. In that role, Mulkey acted as the primary point of contact for multiple programs, including men’s soccer, football, men’s basketball, women’s lacrosse, and men’s gymnastics. Mulkey also worked the NCAA Men’s Gymnastics Championship and played a key role in planning and executing preseason events for Penn State football and men’s basketball, while overseeing and training fellow interns.
In addition to athletic administration experience, Mulkey is currently a Second Lieutenant (2LT) in the United States Army Reserves, having been commissioned through the Army ROTC program.
Mulkey earned a bachelor’s degree in business management with a minor in military science from Penn State and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sports administration from Georgia State University.
