John Morrison joined Georgia Tech football as special teams quality control assistant in 2026.
A long snapper at Alabama from 2014-15, Morrison got his start in coaching as a student assistant with the Crimson Tide. He served under not only legendary head coach Nick Saban, but also current Georgia Tech senior advisor for game management and special teams Brendan Farrell, who was a special teams analyst at Alabama during Morrison's time in Tuscaloosa. Georgia Tech head coach Brent Key was also on the staff during Morrison's time as a student assistant at Alabama.
After graduating from Alabama, Morrison was accepted to and attended Harvard Law School. He earned a prestigious law degree from Harvard in 2021 and practiced law for nearly four years in Washington, D.C. He left the legal field in 2025 to return to the gridiron as an assistant coach working with special teams at West Alabama.
An Atlanta area native (Pace Academy), Morrison earned his bachelor's degree from Alabama with a double major in finance and economics and a minor in history.
