Jocelyn Kavanagh joined Georgia Tech Athletics in August 2023 as assistant mascot coordinator, returning to The Flats following an accomplished academic and athletic career as a two-time graduate in music technology.
Kavanagh spent four years as a Buzz student-athlete, becoming just the fourth female in program history to take on the role. She led the team as captain from 2021-23, and was instrumental in leading Buzz to national championships as a student-athlete in 2023, and as a coach in 2025. Her leadership and creativity have helped shape the Buzz program into a nationally recognized brand.
In addition to her role in athletics, Kavanagh serves as technical director for Georgia Tech’s School of Music within the College of Design. She also teaches Introduction to Audio Technology I, where she shares her passion for sound design and innovation with the next generation of Yellow Jackets.
