As A Junior In 2012-13: Posted a career-best score on the 3-meter board of 217.43 in the dual meet versus rival Georgia… Her season-best 1-meter score of 191.85 came in the Georgia Tech Invitational.
As A Sophomore In 2011-12: Posted a career-best score on the 1-meter board of 198.00 in a dual meet versus Virginia Tech and Miami… Also set a 3-meter career-best score of 212.48 in the dual meet win over Emory.
As A Freshman In 2010-11: Recorded a career best time in the platform dive with a mark of 103.75 at the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational … set a personal best mark in the 1-meter (194.70) and the 3-meter (181.95) vs. Darton and NCSU respectively.
High School: A four-year letter winner (two at Sachem East High School; two at Herndon High School) graduating under the direction of Pat Whitham … Named team captain her senior year … Earned the coaches award for diving in her sophomore season at Sachem East … Given the Sportsmanship award for diving in her senior year … All-District in her junior and senior years … Holds the high school record at Herndon for the 1-meter dive (6 dives, 224 points) … Also a member of the winter and spring track and field teams where she earned All-District honors in the shot put, pole vault, 100-meter run, pentathlon and four times for the high jump … holds the school record at Sachem East in the pentathlon (2,123 points) … Named to the honor roll in each of her high school years … Member of the National Honor Society and Foreign Language Honor Society.
Personal: Born Sarah Anne Roethel on April 10, 1992 in Stony Brook, N.Y. … Parents are Stephen and Theresia Roethel … Has two older brothers, Michael and Richard … Brother, Michael competed at LaSalle University from 2006-10 in track and field while Richard competed in track at Christopher Newport University and played football for the university … Also enjoys volleyball and Frisbee … Plans to major in Polymer, Textile and Fiber Engineering.
