Softball Will Now Host Western Carolina In A Doubleheader On Thursday

March 31, 2008

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech Softball head coach Sharon Perkins announced on Monday that the Yellow Jackets (15-23) will now host Western Carolina (6-23) in a doubleheader Thursday at Glenn Field. Game one will begin at 3:00 p.m. The two teams were originally scheduled to just play a single game, but added a second one after all of the rain-outs in recent weeks.

The Yellow Jackets are coming off a doubleheader sweep at #19/20 North Carolina over the weekend. Sunday’s game was rained out, marking at least seven games that have been canceled due to the weather this year. The Jackets did make up one of those dates with the addition of the Mercer Spring Break Tournament earlier this month following the cancellation of the Buzz Classic.

In other schedule news, the first game of Tech’s April 12 doubleheader at Florida State will be televised live on Sun Sports in Florida. Yellow Jacket fans can watch the game on Direct TV (ch. 632) or Dish Network (ch. 422).
