Shaner Leads Jackets on Day One of ACC Outdoor Championships

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Former walk-on and senior Nico Shaner finished third in the men’s javelin throw with a NCAA Region and personal-record mark of 216 feet, 4 inches, to garner All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors to lead Georgia Tech at the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday.

Senior Eric Massey posted a personal-record and NCAA Region mark of 201 feet, 11 inches, to finish in fifth place for the Yellow Jackets. Freshman Charles Rohling finished 12th with a personal-record mark of 160 feet, 3 inches.

Freshman Alana Clooten tallied a season-best mark of 168 feet, 4 inches, in the women’s hammer throw to finish in eighth place for the Rambling Wreck.
