Seven Jackets Qualify for `A' Finals at Men's ACC Championships

ATLANTA – Senior Matt Figh (1:39.00) and junior Jason Howard (1:37.75) posted NCAA `B’ cut times in the 200-yard freestyle and junior Teemu Kettunen tallied a NCAA `B’ cut time in the 100 butterfly (48.61) to lead the Georgia Tech men’s swimming and diving team in Friday’s morning session at the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships in the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center.

Sophomore Ryan Bishop and junior Sam Morgan qualified for the finals tonight in the 400 individual medley with season-best times of 3:54.71 and 3:54.81, respectively.

Senior Jeremy Raines made the finals later this evening with a season-best swim of 49.70 in the 100 backstroke, finishing in seventh place. Sophomore Alex Williams advanced to the finals in the 100 breaststroke with a lifetime-best time of 56.24.

Freshman Onur Uras posted a lifetime-best time of 49.68 in the 100 fly to qualify for the consolation finals with a 14th-place finish.
