Segura Mandarino Picks Up Consolation Win at SIC Tennis

Athens, Ga. – Freshman Eduardo Segura Mandarino picked up a three-set win Sunday in the consolation draw in Division II singles at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

Segura, from Madrid, Spain, defeated Wayne Harrell of Liberty, 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-6) and finished the tournament with a pair of wins after a first-round loss Friday.

Meanwhile, freshman Vikram Hundal dropped a three-set decision, 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7) in the second round of the Division II singles draw, finishing the Yellow Jackets competition in the event.

Tech continues its fall schedule next weekend, hosting the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational at the Bill Moore Tennis Center on the Tech campus. Tech senior Dusan Miljevic, meanwhile, will compete in the pre-qualification draw of the ITA All-American Championship at Tulsa, Okla., beginning Saturday.
