Greensboro, N.C. – Georgia Tech junior Ollie Schniederjans, who won two events during the month of April, including his first Atlantic Coast Conference title, was named the ACC Men’s Golfer of the Month, announced Wednesday by the league office.
Schniederjans won his fourth and fifth tournaments of the year, tying for first at the Robert Kepler Invitational on the Ohio State Scarlet Course and winning by five strokes at the ACC Championship at the Old North State Club. Five of his six rounds broke par, and he lifted Georgia Tech to the team title in each event.
The junior from Powder Springs, Ga., has now won five tournaments this year, a first for a Georgia Tech golfer. Schniederjans also helped the Jackets win two matches in the Capital City Club Match Play Championship, halving his match against Auburn’s Niclas Carlsson in a 4-2 team victory, and beating top-ranked Joey Garber of Georgia, 2-up, in a 5-1 Tech win.
Schniederjans capped off the month by being named to the U.S. team for the Palmer Cup and as a semifinalist for the Ben Hogan Award.
