Rashaad Reid Named 2nd Team All-Freshman By Phil Steele's Magazine

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech cornerback Rashaad Reid, who emerged as of the ACC’s top young defensive backs in 2008, was named second team All-Freshman by Phil Steele’s Magazine.

Reid is tied for second on the team with three interceptions. He has been credited with 39 tackles, three tackles-for-loss, two pass break-ups and a fumble recovery. Reid’s fumble recovery came with less than a minute remaining in the win over 16th-ranked Florida State, securing Tech’s win over the Seminoles.

A St. Augustine (Fla.) native, Reid recorded his first interception in his second college game, in a win at Boston College on Sept. 6. He also had interceptions in wins over Clemson and Miami.
