Tulsa, Okla. – Georgia Tech’s Nathan Rakitt was eliminated Monday from the qualifying draw in singles at the Saint Francis Health Systems ITA All-American Championships at Tulsa University.
Rakitt, a junior from Marietta, Ga., ranked 76th in the nation, fell to Nicolas Alvarez of Duke, 6-4, 6-4.
Tech continues competition in the championships Tuesday when Rakitt and sophomore teammate Cole Fiegel, ranked 57th in the nation as a doubles team, attempt to qualify for the main draw of doubles. Eduardo Segura and Carlos Benito, ranked 20th in the nation as a doubles team, are in the main draw of the event, which begins Thursday at Tulsa, Okla.
