Georgia Tech's win today gives the Yellow Jackets...... a record of 8-9 overall and 1-3 in the ACC... their first ACC win since beating visiting Boston College on March 4, 2007... an end to their longest losing streak of the season (3 games)... a 4-4 record over the last 8 games... a 135-104 record in 8 seasons under head coach Paul Hewitt... a 4-4 record at home this season... a 3-7 all-time record vs. Virginia Tech, breaking a two-game losing skid vs. the Hokies... their first win vs. Virginia Tech since the 2005 ACC Tournament... their first win ever in Atlanta vs. the Hokies... a 521-175 all-time record in Alexander Memorial Coliseum... an all-time record of 1,197-1,046, including a 186-241 mark in ACC games

Notes … Tech’s last three opponents (Miami, North Carolina and Virginia Tech) are a combined 8-of-44 from three-point range … Georgia Tech led at halftime today for the first time since Jan. 6 vs. Presbyterian … The Yellow Jackets led at half by double digits for the first time since a 40-19 lead vs. Tennessee Tech on Dec. 27, 2007 … Tech’s FG percentage defense (.412) was its best since holding Tennessee Tech to .408 on Dec. 27th

Starters … Tech used tonight’s starting lineup (Miller, Bell, Morrow, Lawal and Smith) for the third straight game … Jeremis Smith and Anthony Morrow are the only two Yellow Jackets to start every game this season

Matt Causey … his seventh three-point field goal tied for the ninth-most in Georgia Tech history and the most since Anthony Morrow made seven vs. Winston-Salem State on Jan. 3, 2007 … only five players in Tech history have made more three-pointers in a game – Dennis Scott (four times), Tony Akins, Drew Barry, Mark Price and Fred Vinson … his seven three-point field goals were the most by a Jacket in an ACC game since Feb. 10, 2004 when B.J. Elder made seven vs. North Carolina … scored a Georgia Tech career-high today (previously 11 points vs. Notre Dame) … it’s also his Division I career high – he scored 12 points in a game as a freshman at Georgetown … scored in double figures for just the second time this season … made a career-high number of three-point field goals (previously 3 vs. Notre Dame on Nov. 19th) … had a career-high number of three-point attempts (previously 5 vs. Notre Dame on Nov. 19th) … had Georgia Tech career-highs for field goals made (previously 4) and field goal attempts (previously 7) … matched or passed career-highs for free throws (previously 2) and free throws attempted (previously 3)

Anthony Morrow … scored in double figures for a team-high 15th time this season and for the 64th time in his career … has made at least two three-point field goals in six consecutive games … played in his 108th career game and started for the 55th time … moved into seventh place on Tech’s all-time career three-point attempts list (he entered the game with 518 career attempts)

Jeremis Smith … scored in double figures for the eighth time this season and the 36th time in his career … recorded his fourth double-double of the season … has pulled down 10 or more rebounds in four of his last six games … the senior played in his 91st career game and started for the 72nd time

Lance Storrs … played in the first ACC game of his career
