GREENSBORO, N.C. – Juniors Mary Kate DuBard and Philip O’Brien have been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Cross Country Teams after the Fall 2010 season.
The honor is the third-straight for DuBard and the second-straight for O’Brien.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
The 2010 ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Men’s Cross Country was Bo Waggoner of Duke, who finished fifth at this year’s ACC Championships. Florida State’s Jennifer Dunn was selected as the 2010 ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Women’s Cross Country. Dunn was instrumental in the Seminoles’ national runner-up finish at this past year’s NCAA National Championship in Terre Haute, Ind., finishing 33rd overall and missing All-America honors by one-tenth of a second.
DuBard was honored individually earlier this month after being named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Cross Country All-Academic Team. Both the men’s and women’s cross country teams earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors for boasting a team GPA higher than 3.0 during the Fall 2010 season.
