TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) – Jacinta Monroe had 15 points, 10 rebounds, and a school record nine blocks to help Florida State extend its winning streak to seven games with a 59-49 victory over No. 24 Georgia Tech on Sunday.
She was one block shy of the the first triple-double in school history.
Trailing 46-45, Courtney Ward keyed a closing 14-3 closing run for the Seminoles (16-4, 4-0 Atlantic Coast Conference). She scored 10 of her 12 points in the second half and dished out a career-high nine assists as Florida State equaled its best start in conference play.
Alex Montgomery led the Yellow Jackets (13-4, 1-2) with 14 points and Jacqua Williams added 12.
