No. 24 Georgia Tech Defeats Miami, 68-50.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) Jacqua Williams and Alex Montgomery each scored 18 points to lead 24th-ranked Georgia Tech to a 68-50 win over Miami on Monday.

Iasia Hemingway added 11 for Georgia Tech (13-3, 1-1), which has won nine of its last 10 games.

Georgia Tech used a 15-0 run in the second half to take a 51-39 lead. During the run, the Yellow Jackets hit three consecutive 3-pointers, including two by Montgomery, while holding Miami scoreless for over five minutes.

Miami (10-7, 0-3) pulled within 51-48 on a basket by Epiphany Woodson with 6:36 left, but that?s the closest the Hurricanes would get the rest of the way as Georgia Tech closed the game on a 17-2 run.

The Hurricanes were led by Diane Barnes, who scored 11 points.

Miami has lost three straight, all ACC contests.
