No. 22 Tech Hosts Virginia In ACC Home Opener

ATLANTA – The 22nd-ranked Yellow Jackets host Virginia on Saturday, April 10, for an Atlantic Coast Conference doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. at Glenn Field. Georgia Tech enters the ballgame with a record of 33-10, while the Cavaliers are 27-20.

The Rambling Wreck are second in the ACC in pitching (0.82 ERA) and third in team batting (.292). UVa stands fifth in pitching (2.26 ERA) and hitting (.280).

Virginia leads the overall series 29-10. The two teams split last season during the regular season up in Charlottesville, Va. Tech lost game one, 6-1, and won game two, 2-0. UVa downed the Yellow Jackets in the semifinals of the 2003 ACC Tournament 4-3 to take the season series, 2-1.

Tech will host No. 10 Alabama on Tuesday, April 13, for a 3 p.m. doubleheader. The action can be followed on www.ramblinwreck.com. All home games played at Glenn Field are free admission.
