>> No. 20 Georgia Tech, which has won eight of nine games to open the season, is back on the Flats this weekend to host Rutgers at Russ Chandler Stadium.

>> The three-game set is underway Friday at 6 p.m. in a game that can be seen on ESPN3. Live video of the weekend games is available at RamblinWreck.com and all three games can be heard on WREK 91.1 FM in Atlanta with Wade Rogers and Alex McIntyre.

>> Tech’s 8-1 record through nine games matches the team’s best start since the 2003 squad opened 9-0.

>> Junior Daniel Palka carries an eight-game hitting streak into the weekend and his blistering .559 average leads the ACC. Since an 0-for-3 in the season opener, he’s 19 for his last 31 (.613) over his eight-game hit streak (12 RBI, five 2B, two HR, four BB, two K).

>> Freshman Matt Gonzalez is hitting .400 and leads the ACC with 17 RBI. He’s driven in more runs (17) than he has hits (14).

>> Senior RHP Buck Farmer puts his 15-inning scoreless streak on the line Friday. With 21 strikeouts and no walks in two starts this season, he’s jumped from 13th to seventh on Tech’s career strikeouts list (286).

>> The Jackets lead the ACC in batting average (.339), hits (106) and doubles (25), and four Jackets currently rank among the top 18 in hitting in the league.

>> Tech’s Danny Hall is in his 26th season as a head coach (20 at Tech), while Rutgers’ Fred Hill is in his 37th (30 at Rutgers). They have combined for 2,096 career wins.
