>> No. 19 Georgia Tech kicks off a pivotal seven-game home-stand Friday night on the Flats when fifth-ranked Virginia visits Russ Chandler Stadium.

>> The series is underway Friday at 7 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPN3. Saturday’s 1 p.m. game is the ACC Game of the Week and will be broadcast by the Regional Sports Networks, including Fox Sports South, with Bob Rathbun and Dan Bonner. Sunday’s 1 p.m. game is on CSS with Matt Stewart and Randy Carroll. Nolan Alexander and Wade Rogers have the call on WREK 91.1 FM.

>> The Yellow Jackets are 34-14-2 all-time versus Virginia in Atlanta, and Tech leads the overall series 67-44-2. Under head coach Danny Hall, Tech is 33-23-1 in the series. In ACC Tournament play, the Jackets lead 7-3, including a 17-6 win last season.

>> Senior RHP Buck Farmer, who is 2-0 in his career versus the Cavaliers, will make his 41st-consecutive start on Friday night for the Jackets. In his 12 career starts versus Coastal Division foes, Farmer is 9-1 with a 2.46 ERA.

>> After a nine-game absence with mononucleosis, senior Brandon Thomas returned to the lineup in the win at Georgia and didn’t miss a beat — going for 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. He would be the ACC’s leading hitter at .439, but does not have enough at bats to qualify.

>> The Jackets are closing in on their 800th win all-time at Russ Chandler Stadium. Opened in 1985 and renovated in 2002, Tech is 799-224-1 (.781) at the Rusty C.
