ATLANTA – The 19th-ranked Yellow Jackets (13-4) will travel to UAB (8-12) this Wednesday, March 2, for a non-conference softball game at 7 p.m. Tech and UAB will be meeting for the first time in school history. The game can be followed on www.ramblinwreck.com.
The Jackets are coming off four straight losses at the NFCA Leadoff Classic last weekend in Columbus, Ga. Tech scored three runs in the four ballgames, dropping two games to ranked opponents; No. 8 Michigan, 4-1, and No. 17 Nebraska, 9-1 (5). The Yellow Jackets also fell to South Carolina, 2-0 (10), and Southern Illinois, 5-1.
Georgia Tech will host the 13th annual Buzz Classic this weekend, March 4-6, in Mareitta, Ga., at Al Bishop. The tournament will begin with pool play on Friday at 11 a.m. and continue with bracket play starting Saturday night at 8 p.m.
