No. 18 Georgia Tech Men's Tennis Hosts No. 15 Clemson Wednesday

March 7, 2006

After dropping its first dual match of the 2006 season, the Georgia Tech men’s tennis team looks to get back on a winning note Wednesday, hosting No. 15 Clemson at 2:30 p.m. at the Bill Moore Tennis Center.

The Yellow Jackets enter the match with a 6-1 record, 0-1 Atlantic Coast Conference while Clemson stands at 14-2, 1-0 ACC.

The Tigers lead the series between the two schools, 25-13, including 4-3 wins in the last two meetings. Tech’s last victory came in 2004, a 4-3 outcome in Atlanta.

“Our match against Clemson is a battle every year and they are certainly off to a great start this season,” said head coach Kenny Thorne. “The last three matches have been 4-3 decisions and I’m sure that this year it will be no different. We are excited that we are playing in Atlanta and look forward to the opportunity to play an opponent as tough as Clemson.”

Results of the match will be posted following the match at www.ramblinwreck.com or fans may follow livestats during the match at the same address.
