Georgia Tech comes into Sunday’s matchup having taken their first two games of the season. Lorela Cubaj posted her first double-double of the season behind a game-high 15 rebounds to go along with 12 points. Eylia Love recorded her second game in double-figures with 11 points. Meanwhile, Nerea Hermosa just missed a double-double with 10 rebounds and nine points. Hermosa leads the Jackets offensively on the season, averaging 13.5 points per game. Love follows closely behind at 13.0 points per game.
Belmont also carries a 2-0 record into Sunday’s matinee. The Bruins have outscored their opponents by an average margin of 15.0 points, having defeated Chattanooga and Ole Miss to open the season. Destinee Wells leads Belmont offensively, averaging 20.5 points per game, and is one of four Bruins averaging double-figures on the young season. While shooting 37.7 percent from three-point range in two games, Belmont has only allowed three triples combined from its opponents.
Georgia Tech and Belmont are meeting for the second time on the hardwood and first since 1998. In the lone meeting between the teams, the Jackets took the decision, 76-64.
