Georgia Tech offensive coordinator Patrick Nix has been named the National Coordinator of the Week by Rivals.com following the Yellow Jackets 38-27 victory at 10th-ranked Virginia Tech.

Tech (4-1, 2-0 ACC), now ranked 18th, jumped on the Hokies with a 21-point first-quarter. Georgia Tech’s 38 points represent the most points scored on Virginia Tech since 2002, and the most points scored by a visiting team at Lane Stadium since 1994.

Nix is the second Tech coordinator to win this award in the last eight games. Defensive coordinator Jon Tenuta, who was also a finalist for this week’s award, was honored last November following the Jackets’ 14-10 win at third-ranked Miami.
