Tech meets Boston College in a dual-meet setting for only the third time, sweeping the Eagles in both 2022 and 2016 meetings. The last dual saw McKenzie Campbell set a 1:58.98 in the 200 IM, one of only two female Tech swimmers to race under 1:59.
Jackets faced East Carolina for only the second time after sweeping the Pirates at home in 2024, highlighted by Mert Kilavuz’s 8:51.21 in the 1000 free, the only Tech swimmer to ever swim a sub-nine-minute time in the event.
Tech has opened the season strong after reaching the Dual Meet Tournament championship meet, knocking off Florida State and South Carolina. The men are a spotless 4-0 in dual meets with ranked wins over No. 14 Auburn, Florida State, South Carolina, and Emory.
Jackets racked up 20 top-10 program times through the opening meets of the season. Freshman Meriç Uygun made her impact in the record books with two top-three program best times in the 200 breast (2:09.53, 2nd) and 200 IM (1:59.12, 3rd).
Senior Vivien Rothwell is already just a tenth-of-a-second off her 100 back school record at 52.63 while freshman Kerem İlyem swam a 1:53.11 in the 200 breast, the third-fastest time in Tech history and third-fastest in the ACC this season.
On the boards, senior diver Max Fowler has continued his dominance, smashing his own 1-meter school record in the opening meet of the season at 419.18. Fowler holds the top 1-meter session score in all of Division I and sits just 5.67 points off the best 3-meter score in the nation at 421.58. He has won five of the six sessions competed in this season.
Georgia Tech received 15 votes in the latest edition of the CSCAA Top-25 Dual Meet Rankings on the men’s side as they aim to enter the top-25 for the first time since March 2025.
