LOOKING FORWARD TO 2027

Looking to become the first back-to-back-to-back ACC regular season champions since 2003, Tech carries a healthy list of returners, a Top 10 ranked transfer portal class and another highly ranked high school recruiting class into the new year. GT returns All-American slugger Ryan Zuckerman from last year’s historic lineup along with everyday players Kent Schmidt, Will Baker and Caleb Daniel.

On the mound, the Jackets return an ACC best 60% of the innings pitched from a staff that led the conference in ERA over ACC competition. That staff is headlined by weekend starters Jackson Blakely and Carson Ballard as well as Justin Shadek, Cooper Underwood, Caden Gaudette, Dylan Loy and Dimitri Angelakos.

In the transfer portal, the Jackets brought in 11 new faces from all across the college baseball landscape, from junior college products like Holden Pantier (.441/.534/.849 over 131 games at Walters State), Division 2 with Jackson Morgan (.387/.467/.718 over 79 games at Young Harris), mid-major finds like Cooper Blauser (.304/.409/.480 over 123 games at Jacksonville State) and Eli Stephens (.348/.442/.676 over 83 games at Mercer) and power four transfers like Jayden Stroman (6.35 ERA over 16 games at Virginia), Jordan Lodise (.243/.338/.400 over 55 games at UCF)) and Tyler Guerin (7.38 ERA over 32 games at Iowa).

From the high school ranks, the Jackets have brought in nine freshmen headlined by Top 100 ranked recruit and 17th round draft pick by the Washington Nationals, Isaiah Galason (Kathleen, Ga.). On the mound, the Jackets added to the depth with nationally ranked recruits Ryan Engle (Kernersville, N.C.), Luke Nitkowski (Alpharetta, Ga.) and Reid Gainous (Cairo, Ga.).
