Jackets Head to ACC Championships

The Jackets gear up for its 47th appearance at the ACC Championships

THE FLATS - The Georgia Tech cross country teams are set to open the postseason at the 2026 ACC Cross Country Championships from the Buford Meredith Cross Country Course in Blacksburg, Virginia, on Friday morning.

2026 ACC XC Championships

Tech has enjoyed a strong 2026 season, racking up three individual race victories and a team victory for both men’s and women’s squads. Taylor Wade led the men’s team with race victories at the Stan Sims XC Opener and Georgia Tech XC Invitational as Claire Shelton won her first career race in the team’s home event.

Wade has emerged as one of the fastest runners in the conference, setting a blistering 8k PB at 23:19.2 to elevate himself amongst the lead pack. He currently ranks 11th in the ACC and 15th in the regional leaderboards, aiming to become the first male All-ACC honoree for Tech since Nahom Solomon’s top-five performance in 2017.

Behind him, Alexander Arrambide and Joey Sandel have climbed their way up the leaderboard and have secured top finishes for the team as Matt Castronuovo and Wyatt Windham close out the lead five. All five Tech runners currently rank inside the top-100 of the conference, Wade was the only male Tech runner in mark last season at 90th.

Claire Shelton continued her strong momentum from her sophomore season and has led the women’s team in three of the four races this season. She finished in the top-15 of both 5k races with a second-place finish in the opener before winning the first 6k of the season at home and placing 17th at the Crimson Classic.
