Georgia Tech fans will get their first look at the 2026-27 Yellow Jackets on Sunday in their first preseason exhibition contest against Maryland. The Yellow Jackets take on their former ACC foe at UMBC’s Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena to open preseason play.

The Yellow Jackets open a new era under first-year head coach Scott Cross. The 15-member squad features 13 newcomers that include seven transfers and a six-member freshmen class. Earlier this summer, Tech took a foreign tour to The Bahamas for a pair of international exhibition contests for the first set of matchups this season. Tech grabbed both matchups behind double-figure totals from Nasir Whitlock, who led the Jackets at 19.5 points per game, and Courtland Muldrew (19.0 ppg).

Tech returns just two from the 2025-26 roster – fifth year Kam Craft and sophomore Cole Kirouac – for just 19.0 percent of its scoring. Tech is one of three teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference to return 12 percent or less of its scoring from last season.

Georgia Tech will conclude preseason action on Oct. 24 with a trip to Rhode Island to take on Providence.
