THE FLATS - The Georgia Tech swimming and diving teams are set to open the 2026-27 campaign with its annual white versus gold intrasquad meet on Friday, September 18, from the McAuley Aquatic Center before participating in the Atlanta Open Water Swim charity event as part of Swim Across America on Saturday, September 19, from Lake Lanier Olympic Park.

Friday will feature a full slate of action with the diving events beginning at 2 p.m. before the full swimming order opens at 2:30 p.m. The white team pulled out a 409-372 victory over the gold team in the 2025 meet, the teams evenly split the 28 swimming events with additional points earned for setting intrasquad records.
Phoebe Wright broke three total records in the 200 IM, 200 back, and as the anchor of the winning 400 free relay team. Robin Yeboah, Zara Masud, and Tobin Uhl won multiple events at last year’s meet and will return for 2026.
The Jackets will also return to the Atlanta Open Water Swim charity event on Saturday morning, competing for the seventh time in the last eight seasons. The swimmers will race in Lake Lanier with the rolling start set to begin at 8:45 a.m. Swim Across America has hosted charity swims that fund cancer research and patient programs since 1987, for more information, click HERE.
Max Fowler is set for his senior season following a record-breaking junior campaign. He shattered both the 1-meter and 3-meter program session records and became a four-time CSCAA All-American following his third consecutive trip to the NCAA Championships. He was named the 2026 ACC Men’s Diver of the Meet after defending his 3-meter conference crown, securing silver in the 1-meter finals, and was the only ACC diver to reach all three finals.
Georgia Tech returns six swimming finalists from the 2025 ACC Championships and finished ranked inside the top-50 of Swimcloud’s final 2025-26 dual rankings for both men’s and women’s teams. The men placed 39th overall with the women slotted in at 48th.
Full Steam Ahead
Full Steam Ahead is a $500 million fundraising initiative to achieve Georgia Tech athletics’ goal of competing for championships at the highest level in the next era of intercollegiate athletics. The initiative will fund transformative projects for Tech athletics, including renovations of Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field (the historic home of Georgia Tech football), the Zelnak Basketball Center (the practice and training facility for Tech basketball) and O’Keefe Gymnasium (the venerable home of Yellow Jackets volleyball), as well as additional projects and initiatives to further advance Georgia Tech athletics through program wide-operational support.
