Jackets Dominate in Grizzly Invite Finale

Tech won all six doubles matches across Sunday morning

THE FLATS - The Georgia Tech men’s tennis team dominated on the final day of action from the Grizzly Invite, winning all six doubles matches on Sunday.

GT was perfect in the morning doubles session as Tech won all six matches across both draws. Owen DeMuth and Elias Shokry dealt a 6-3 result in the B-draw semifinal before winning the B-draw final after a 6-2 victory over Georgia Gwinnett’s lead pairing.

Richard Biagiotti and Mason Taube won both of their matches in 6-2 fashion to close out the A-draw as Jonathan Irwanto and Lucas Yunez collected 6-2 and 6-3 victories in the B-draw. Tech won 36 of 51 games on the day throughout doubles play, dropping only 15 games across six sets of doubles action.

Biagiotti finished top of the singles green draw after coming back from a 6-1 first set and winning the next two sets to punctuate his three-win singles weekend. Irwanto and Yunez collected third-place match victories in the gold and gray draws, respectively.
