GREENVILLE, S.C. – Olivia Carneiro earned the Flight Five singles title as Georgia Tech women’s tennis added four more singles victories on the final day of the 39th Annual Debbie Southern Furman Fall Classic.
The São Paulo, Brazil native defeated Aubrey Nisbet from Wake Forest, 6-3, 6-1, to earn the title. Also securing singles wins Sunday were Taylor Goetz (6-3, 7-6(13)), Eleni Karantali (6-3, 6-2) and Rishitha Basireddy (6-4, 6-1).
Carneiro’s title marks the third-straight season a Yellow Jacket has won a singles title at this event. In total, Tech earned 16 victories (11 singles, 5 doubles) across the three-day event.
Tech returns to the court for the ITA Women’s All-American Championships in Cary, N.C. (Sept. 19-27).
