Tech Earns Five Victories at Furman Saturday

Jackets win three singles and two doubles matches

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Georgia Tech women’s tennis produced five victories (three singles, two doubles) Saturday in day two of the 39th Annual Debbie Southern Furman Fall Classic. 

In the final doubles round of the weekend, Given Roach and Eleni Karantali started the day off and earned a 6-4 victory over a duo from ACC foe NC State. Seri Nayuki and newcomer Taylor Goetz also picked up a win in doubles, defeating a Maryland squad, 7-5. 

Olivia Carneiro, Roach and Karantali won games in singles action, getting past student-athletes from Furman, Maryland and Indiana, respectively. 

Tech wraps up play at the Debbie Southern Furman Fall Classic Sunday, Sept. 13 at 9:00 a.m.
