Set 1 (GT 22 – BU 25)
- Set one proved to be the most evenly matched set of the contest which essentially came down to the Bears outscoring the Jackets 4-2 coming out of the final timeout. Baylor operated off a .351 clip producing 19 kills which Tech tried to respond to with four blocks, two service aces, and 11 kills. Bianca Garibaldi led the Jackets as far as attack percentage with a .667 attack percentage while Kobaidze saw four kills on six swings in the opening frame. To start the match Heloise Soares posted eight assists and one block assist. Defensively, Kaneko led the team in digs (3). Alida Bennour and Zoe Humphrey stacked two block assists respectively.
Set 2 (GT 18 – BU 25)
- The second set began close with Tech and Baylor trading points and seeing a 7-7 tie early on. Baylor broke away from Tech with a three-point run before the Jackets could call a timeout to break up momentum. Kobaidze recorded a kill immediately coming out of the timeout before the Bears went on to outscore the Jackets 4-1 to then lead 15-9 going into the media timeout. Despite the offensive push, Tech went on to drop set two 25-18. For the second straight set, Kobaidze led Tech’s offense with another four kills and a .667 attack percentage. Of Tech’s nine assists, Soares was credited with five with Godey recorded three and Humphrey recorded one. Kaneko was responsible for four of Tech’s 10 set two digs. Garibaldi and Kobaidze tallied one solo block each with the freshman also recording two block assists alongside Humphrey.
Set 3 (GT 16 – BU 25)
- Set three was similar to set two with the Jackets and the Bears keeping a close score (9-9) until Baylor went on a six-point run to force Tech to trail 15-9 going into the media timeout. Coming out of the media timeout, Baylor outscored Tech 6-3 before the Jackets called what would be their final timeout of the match. Regardless of the Jackets grit, Tech went on to fall 25-16 in the last set. For the final frame, Kobaidze led the Jackets’ offense with three kills alongside Laura Bieleski and Willow Weninger who recorded two each. Soares finished the day with seven final assists. Of Tech’s 14 final digs, Kaneko was credited with five.

The Yellow Jackets will continue competing in the Ameritas Players Challenge hosted by No. 1 Nebraska with their next match being Friday, Sept. 11 at 5 p.m. against New Mexico.
