THE FLATS - The Georgia Tech men’s tennis team will open its fall season from the campus of Georgia Gwinnett College for the Grizzly Invite this weekend.

Friday will begin with the first round of doubles action at 9 a.m. before two rounds of singles play commences at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday will feature two rounds of doubles matches at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. before the final slate of singles play begins at noon.
Six Tech players will compete across the weekend with seniors Richard Biagiotti and Elias Shokry placed in the green draw while Jonathan Irwanto competes in the gold draw. Freshman Lucas Yunez and Mason Taube will make their collegiate debuts in the gray and black draws, respectively, while Owen DeMuth will play in the grizzly draw.
In doubles, Biagiotti will be partnered with Taube in the A draw. Irwanto and Yunez will play together along with DeMuth and Shokry in the B draw.
Tech features six returners from last season’s squad including five of its main starters in singles play from the previous spring. Taube begins his collegiate career as the No. 1 ranked player in the state of Georgia in the 2026 cycle. Yunez enters as the No. 2 rated junior from Ecuador coming off his first career ATP Challengers win and competing at the 2026 Roland Garros Juniors Championships.
Full Steam Ahead
Full Steam Ahead is a $500 million fundraising initiative to achieve Georgia Tech athletics’ goal of competing for championships at the highest level in the next era of intercollegiate athletics. The initiative will fund transformative projects for Tech athletics, including renovations of Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field (the historic home of Georgia Tech football), the Zelnak Basketball Center (the practice and training facility for Tech basketball) and O’Keefe Gymnasium (the venerable home of Yellow Jackets volleyball), as well as additional projects and initiatives to further advance Georgia Tech athletics through program wide-operational support.
