Devin Stanton Promoted to Associate Head Coach

THE FLATS – After helping Georgia Tech to five successful seasons culminating in NCAA Championship appearances each year, Devin Stanton has been promoted to associate head coach and director of performance, head coach Ryan Hybl announced on Friday.

“We are so excited for the future with Coach Stanton and his family here at Georgia Tech,” Hybl said. “Devin is a tireless worker that has earned his stripes as a coach in the golf business and the strength and conditioning areas. As a former Georgia Tech student-athlete, he believes in our mission at the Institution and will help our guys navigate what it means to be the best version of themselves.”

Stanton, a former Georgia Tech baseball letterwinner, has served five seasons as an assistant coach with the golf program, guiding the Yellow Jackets to NCAA Championship appearances each season, 13 tournament wins, highlighted by an Atlantic Coast Conference Championship, and numerous accolades, including 12 all-ACC honorees. He also helped mentor two of the highest honors in 2024 as Hiroshi Tai became Tech’s fourth national collegiate champion and Christo Lamprecht was voted the ACC Player of the Year. During his tenure, he has helped coach seven Yellow Jackets to nine Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-American honors.

The Lilburn, Ga., native joined the Georgia Tech golf staff in July 2019 as an assistant coach and has served in that capacity since (with a break during the 2024-25 academic year when he served as a professional caddie). During his first season on staff, Stanton helped lead the Jackets to back-to-back tournament titles to open the 2019-20 fall season and four total before the season was cut short. His second season on staff witnessed another five tournament victories and a runner-up finish at the 2022 ACC Championship before the 2022-23 season saw the Yellow Jackets capture their 19^th ACC Championship and advance to the NCAA Championship finals. His final season of his first stint, 2023-24, saw Tech advance to the NCAA Championship semifinals. Last season, Stanton helped guide the Yellow Jackets to a share of the Pauma Valley Invitational and their 28^th-straight NCAA Regionals appearance.

Stanton first returned to The Flats in 2018 as a strength and conditioning intern, assisting with the baseball, golf and track and field teams.

Prior to his return to Georgia Tech, Stanton operated his own business as a physical preparation coach, while also managing a holistic training program for a pair of former Yellow Jacket golfers turned professional. Stanton has extensive experience as a strength and conditioning coach and caddy at the professional level.

Stanton donned the White and Gold uniform from 2011-15, appearing in 58 games as a pitcher over his five seasons. He served as team captain in 2014 and 2015 and made ACC Academic Honor Roll three times.
