THE FLATS – Georgia Tech’s men’s and women’s track and field teams are among the Division I squads named All-Academic Teams for their academic performance, and six individuals on those teams were named All-Academic Athletes for the 2021-22 academic year by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Georgia Tech’s men’s team posted an aggregate 3.35 grade-point average for the 2021-22 academic year, while the women’s team posted a 3.32 GPA.
Yellow Jacket men named USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes include sophomore distance runner Alex Thomas (civil engineering) and sophomore triple jumper John Watkins (electrical engineering), both for the second consecutive year. On the women’s side, senior distance runner Nicole Fegans (business administration), junior pole vaulter Olivia Moore (industrial design), freshman high jumper Shanty Papakosta (earth & atmospheric sciences) and sophomore sprinter Lydia Troupe (psychology) were honored.
Fegans, Papakosta, Troupe and Watkins have been honored previously this summer with selection to the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Academic teams.
