Jackets overcome an inspired Hurricanes performance to advance to ACC Tournament semifinals

The thirteen-seeded Hurricanes saw their ACC Tournament run come to an end in the quarterfinals with a 70-66 loss to the Yellow Jackets. Miami had a four-point halftime lead, but Georgia Tech upped their defensive intensity in the second half. The Yellow Jackets forced 12 Miami turnovers in the second half and held the Canes to just 41.7% shooting after the Hurricanes shot 52.2% in the first half. Jordan Usher was Georgia Tech’s leading scorer with 15 points. Jose Alvarado and Michael Devoe each scored 13. For Miami, Kameron McGusty scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Nysier Brooks added 19 points and six rebounds.

Jordan Usher led the Yellow Jackets with 15 points, including the game-clinching dunk with seconds remaining.
