MISCELLANEOUS
• With the win, Georgia Tech’s all-time NCAA Tournament record improves to 57-49. Georgia State is now 0-1 in the NCAA Tournament.
• DAY 2 MATCHUPS: #2 Elon vs. #4 Georgia State (3 p.m.) (elimination game) #1 Georgia Tech vs. #3 Southern Mississippi (7 p.m.)

GEORGIA TECH
• Georgia Tech won its sixth straight NCAA Regional game at Russ Chandler Stadium. Tech now owns an all-time record of 22-13 in NCAA games played at the “Rusty C.”
• 3B Matt Skole hit his first career Grand Slam in the fifth inning. Skole now has 16 home runs matching Frank Bolick for the second-highest single-season total for a Tech freshman in school history (Jeremy Slayden hit 18 in 2002).
• Starting pitcher Deck McGuire earned the win to improve to 11-1 in 2009 and 19-2 in his two-year collegiate career. McGuire’s .905 career winning percentage is the best in school history.
• McGuire struck out seven batters, marking the 11th time in 15 starts that he has struck out seven or more.
• Tech’s five-run fifth inning was the 34th time the Yellow Jackets have scored at least four runs in an inning. The Jackets are 21-3 in games when they score at least four runs in an inning.
• Georgia Tech avenged a 10-1 loss to Georgia State at Russ Chandler Stadium on Mar. 24. Tech is now 53-8 all-time against the Panthers, including a 31-3 mark at home. The Yellow Jackets are now 30-4 against the Panthers under head coach Danny Hall.
• 2B Connor Winn, who entered the game just 4-for-24 (.167) in limited playing time this year, finished with a career-high two hits in three at bats.
• SS Derek Dietrich had his first career sacrifice bunt to help spark Tech’s five-run fifth inning.
• CF Jeff Rowland had a career-high three stolen bases.
• 1B Tony Plagman went 0-for-4 to snap an 11-game hitting streak.

GEORGIA STATE • 1B Bradley Logan homered for the fifth straight game. Logan’s 27 career home runs ranks seventh on Georgia State’s all-time list.
• LF Michael McCree had two hits to extend his hitting streak to 11 games.
• RF Matt Van Horn played in his 59th game of the season, tying the school single season record set by Paul Schlosser in 2000.
• Marc Mimeault’s fourth inning single gave him 76 hits for the season and tied him with Dustin Phillips for fifth place on the school’s all-time list. Bradley Logan set the school record with 85 hits in 2008.
• The Panthers entered tonight’s game 12th in the NCAA in walks, but only drew one base on balls (coming with two outs in the ninth inning).
