Mouhammad Faye to Transfer

ATLANTA – Mouhammad Faye, a sophomore forward for Georgia Tech’s men’s basketball team who has been on leave of absence from the team, has decided to transfer to another school, head coach Paul Hewitt announced Sunday.

Faye’s destination has not yet been determined.

“Mouhammad is seeking a better situation for himself both academically and athletically,” said Hewitt. “We wish him luck, and we enjoyed having him in our program the last two-and-a-half years.”

The 6-10 Faye, a native of Dakar, Senegal, has played in five games this year, averaging 2.2 points. He played in 30 games last season, starting eight, and averaged 3.9 points after red-shirting in the 2005-06 season.
