ATLANTA–Georgia Tech volleyball star Lynnette Moster and tennis standout Jose Luis Muguruza were named the Wendy’s Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week for Monday, September 27, 2004.
Moster, a senior from Liberty, Ind., led the volleyball team to two victories on the week and helped them to a 2-0 start in the conference standings. Against North Carolina, she posted 25 kills and hit .429 while also recording 15 digs. The next night against NC State, she had 16 kills and hit .583 and added four service aces. On the week, Moster averaged 6.83 kills per game, 4.00 digs per game and hit .479.
Muguruza, a sophomore from Wesley Chapel, Fla., posted a 3-1 singles record to reach the quarterfinals of the Southern Intercollegiate. He paired with teammate Marko Rajevac in doubles action and posted a 2-1 record on the weekend reaching the quarterfinals. For the weekend, Muguruza posted a 5-2 record and reached the quarterfinals of both singles and doubles play.
