PHILADELPHIA – Shantia Moss finished second in the women’s 100-meter hurdles to lead the Georgia Tech men’s and women’s track & field teams on the final day of the historic Penn Relays at Franklin Field on the University of Pennsylvania campus.
Moss, a senior from Tamarac, Fla., placed second in the women’s 100-meter hurdles championship with an NCAA Regional qualifying time of 13.17.
The men’s 4×800-meter relay team featuring E.C. Gibbs, Billy Mateker, Tim Guglielmo and Nazar Trilisky placed 24th with a time of 7:47.93.
In the men’s triple jump championship, senior James Lemons II placed third with an NCAA Regional qualifying mark of 52 feet, 8 inches. Sophomore Alphonso Jordan landed in eighth place with an NCAA Regional qualifying mark of 50 feet, 10 inches.
Freshman Omar Morrison placed 12th in the men’s triple jump college with a mark of 47 feet, 5 ¾ inches.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action on Saturday, May 10th at the Orange & Purple Classic at the Rock Norman Complex in Clemson, S.C.
