Morgan Burnett Named To CollegeFootballNews.com All-Sophomore Team

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech safety Morgan Burnett was named to the CollegeFootballNews.com All-Sophomore Team it was announced today. In addition, b-back Jonathan Dwyer and defensive end Derrick Morgan were selected to the honorable mention all-sophomore team, while linebacker Kyle Jackson and safety Cooper Taylor were honorable mention all-freshman team picks.

Burnett is tied for the NCAA lead in interceptions with seven, including a 35-yard INT return for a touchdown against Georgia Nov. 29. The College Park (Ga.) native leads the Yellow Jackets in tackles (79) to go with 5.5 tackles-for-loss, eight pass break-ups and a forced fumble.

The No. 14 Yellow Jackets resume practice this weekend in preparation for the 2008 Chick-fil-A Bowl against LSU, New Year’s Eve at the Georgia Dome (7:30 p.m./ESPN).
