Michael Johnson Closes Book On NFL Rumors

Jan. 14, 2008

ATLANTA – Due to erroneous reports that Georgia Tech defensive end Michael Johnson was leaving school early to enter the NFL draft, the rising senior wants to make it clear that he will be playing on Saturdays, not Sundays, next fall.

“To be honest, I never considered leaving early. I think it can only benefit me to stay in college another year,” Johnson said. “The rumors that have been published have been a source of frustration for my family.

“I am very excited about playing football at Georgia Tech in 2008 for Coach (Paul) Johnson. It’s an exciting time to be a part of the program.”
