Men's Tennis Inks Oleg Novinkov

ATLANTA (April 6) – Oleg Novinkov (Houston, Texas), one of the nation’s top-30 junior boys’ tennis players, has signed a national letter of intent to play for Georgia Tech next season, head coach Kenny Thorne announced Wednesday.

Novinkov, ranked 28th by the Unisted States Tennis Association (USTA), is currently enrolled at LGE Academy in Orlando, Fla.

“I am very excited about Oleg joining the team.” Thorne said. “He will be able to come in and have an immediate impact as a freshman.”

Novinkov has several impressive USTA tounament wins, including a top- 24 finish in the USTA nationals in August and an appearance in the finals of the Spring Fling in March. He has a total tournament record of 37-18.

“Novinkov has great talent.” Thorne said. “He has great potential to become a top player for us.”
