THE FLATS — The Georgia Tech men’ tennis (8-9, 3-5) dropped their match to No. 3 Wake Forest, 4-1 on Friday afternoon at the Ken Byers Tennis Center.
The Jackets dropped the doubles point after Carlos Divar/Phillip Gresk and Cole Gromley/Zummy Bauer fell in their matches.
Divar/Gresk dropped their match to No. 61 Borna Gojo/Alan Gadjiev, 6-2, while Gromley/Bauer fell to No. 26 Petros Chrysochos/Bar Botzer, 6-1.
In singles, Cole Gromley led the way for the Jackets, picking up the Jackets lone singles victory. Gromley defeated Siddhant Banthia, 6-3, 6-3.
Gresk fell to N0. 3 Chrysochos, 6-1, 6-1 and No. 30 Divar lost his match to No. 50 Gojo, 6-4, 6-3.
Lastly, Andrew Li would fall in his match against No. 22 Bar Botzer, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 to clinch the match for the Demon Deacons.
Chris Yun and Pablo Schelcher’s matches were left unfinished. Yun was split with Rrezart Cungu, 7-6 (7), 3-6, while Schelcher split with No. 79 Milos Efstathiou, 7-6 (7), 3-5.
The Jackets will be back next Friday, April 5th when they face No. 23 NC State at the Ken Byers Tennis Center.
