THE FLATS – After great wins from Cole Gromley and Carlos Divar over the MLK Tournament, the Jackets came out strong in the their duel meet against The Citadel.
In their first match, the Jackets won all of their singles matches including a 6-0, 6-1 win for Gromley and a 6-1, 6-1 victory for Brandon Freestone.
The Yellow Jackets earned seven points and The Citadel earned zero, giving the Jackets their first win of the season, 1-0.
In the afternoon, the Jackets won all three of their doubles matches, and won five of the six singles matches.
Standouts from the afternoon were Phillip Gresk and Divar.
Gresk won his match against Noah Nawabi 6-0, 6-0 while Divar defeated Jack Pyritz 6-0, 6-1.
The Jackets won the second duel match with a score of 6-1, improving their record to 2-0.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Sunday against Furman at 3:30 in the Ken Byers Tennis Complex.
