NEW ORLEANS (AP) – Nick Sinville scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Tulane past Georgia Tech, 80-66, on Thursday night.
Brandon Brown and Brandon Spann each scored 15 for Tulane (6-6), which opened with a 9-0 run, jumped out to a 41-27 halftime lead and remained comfortably ahead the rest of the way.
Spann made all eight of his free throws and the only 3-pointer he attempted. Sinville was 7-for-10 from the field, with most of his points coming inside, as Tulane shot nearly 52 percent.
Chris Bosh scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Georgia Tech (5-5), while Marvin Lewis added 13 points and B.J. Elder scored 11.
The Yellow Jackets shot 41 percent and turned the ball over 16 times while Tulane had a season-low 10 turnovers.
Byron Parker shot 2-for-3 from 3-point range in scoring a career-high 12 points to go with four steals. Waitari Marsh added 11 for the Green Wave, which also beat Georgia Tech in the two teams’ only meeting last season.
