Meet the Tech Basketball Teams

Georgia Tech fans will have two opportunities this week to meet the Yellow Jacket men’s and women’s teams, which will make an appearance at the ESPN Zone in Buckhead Thursday and then host HoopsFest Saturday at Alexander Memorial Coliseum.

Thursday from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., Paul Hewitt’s men’s squad and the and the women’s team of first-year head coach MaChelle Joseph will be at the ESPN Zone on Peachtree Road in Buckhead. Fans are invited to stop by for autographs and photos as well as free food while it lasts. Season tickets for both teams will be on sale, and one lucky fan will win a pair of tickets to the Tech-Georgia football game at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

HoopsFest will take place on Saturday, November 1 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Alexander Memorial Coliseum. Both teams will scrimmage in a pre-season tune-up. There will be contests for fans and both teams will be available for autographs and photos after scrimmaging. Admission is free, and season tickets for both teams will be on sale.

The Tech men’s team, led by senior Marvin Lewis and junior B.J. Elder, open the season with a NOv. 6 exhibition against Team Nike at 7 p.m. at Alexander Memorial Coliseum. Tech’s first regular-season contest is Tuesday, Nov. 18 against Louisiana Lafayette at 7 p.m. at the Thrillerdome in the first round of the Preseason NIT.

The Yellow Jacket women host Premier Players in an exhibition on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. and then open regular season play with a road test at Florida Atlantic on Nov. 21.
