Sept. 23, 2013

GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the second consecutive week, Georgia Tech junior right guard Shaquille Mason has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Offensive Lineman of the Week.

Mason graded-out the highest among Georgia Tech’s offensive line following the 28-20 win over Coastal Division rival North Carolina on Saturday. The junior from Columbia, Tenn. helped the Yellow Jackets churn out 324 rushing yards and 428 total yards in the win over the Tar Heels. Mason and Co. allowed just one sack – their first sack allowed this season.

Mason becomes just the second offensive lineman in Tech history to garner back-to-back ACC weekly honors, joining former All-American Omoregie Uzzi, who repeated as ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week on Sept. 19 and 26, 2011.

Georgia Tech (3-0, 2-0) hosts Virginia Tech (3-1, 0-0) Thursday night on ESPN at 7:30 p.m. The game is the Yellow Jackets’ celebration of the 100th anniversary season of Historic Grant Field.
