Lumbra Takes 14th On Opening Day Of Zone Diving Championship

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Freshman Shannon Lumbra finished 14th on the 3-meter springboard as the NCAA Zone B Diving Championship begin Monday in Knoxville, Tenn.

Lumbra was 14th, while junior Ashley Hardy was 23rd in the event. The 1-meter competition will be conducted on Tuesday.

Lumbra posted a score of 271.20 and was in 18th-place after Monday’s prelims. She followed that with an impressive 300.25 in Monday’s finals, and her two-round score of 571.45 was good for 14th place.

Hardy scored 263.60 in the prelims, and just missed a spot in the finals.
